About this Simulation

This interactive simulation models a falling basketball, allowing learners to observe and measure energy transformations in real time. Students can track how gravitational potential energy converts to kinetic energy as the ball falls, visualize motion trajectories, and verify conservation of energy principles through direct experimentation and data collection.

Learning objectives: Understand and apply the law of conservation of mechanical energy to falling objects | Distinguish between potential and kinetic energy and calculate their values during motion | Analyze energy transformations quantitatively using real-world basketball scenarios
