About this Simulation

This simulation lets you investigate how different materials—water, lead, sand, and oil—respond to heating and cooling. By running two setups side-by-side, you can compare temperature changes, observe thermal energy transfer, and discover why materials have different thermal properties based on their specific heat capacity and mass.

Learning objectives: Compare how different materials absorb and release thermal energy | Understand the relationship between heat input, temperature change, and material properties | Analyse experimental data to identify which materials heat up fastest and cool down slowest
