About this Simulation

This simulation models two-dimensional waves generated by two coherent sources in a ripple tank. Students can adjust wavelength, period, source separation, and phase difference to observe how waves superpose and create constructive and destructive interference patterns. Real-time visualization shows wave propagation and the resulting interference phenomena.

Learning objectives: Understand how waves from two sources superpose to create interference patterns | Explore the relationship between phase difference, wavelength, and interference intensity | Predict and verify regions of constructive and destructive interference in two-dimensional wave systems
