About this Simulation

This simulation models the forces acting on a block being pushed horizontally. By adjusting the applied force, mass, and friction coefficient, learners can observe when static friction holds the block in place and when kinetic friction causes it to slip. Real-time force diagrams help visualize the balance between applied and friction forces.

Learning objectives: Distinguish between static and kinetic friction and their effects on motion | Predict whether an object will remain stationary or slide based on force comparisons | Apply equilibrium conditions to analyze forces on an object in contact with a surface
