Description

This simulation visualises the energy transfer of a falling basketball.

The simulation contains 3 different views - Left panel shows the outside view and the height of the basketball; middle panel is an up-close view of the basketball while showing the relative energy cubes that represent the form of energy; and the right panel gives the energy bar.

The basketball starts off at the maximum height, 1.0m. The user is able to drag the basketball in y-direction to change the maximum height of the basketball. While changing the maximum height, the calculation of the energy changes, but the relative energy cubes remains the same to show comparison.

The simulation will stop just before the basketball hits the ground.

Self-exploration mode is activated by clicking on the checkbox under Self-exploration.

In the self-exploration mode, the user can interact with the energy cubes in the middle panel to guess the form of energy and the position of the cubes, at a certain height of the basketball.

To interact with the energy cubes, the user can double-click them to change the form of energy and drag the cubes around to change the positions.
