System: Battery-operated motor, rope, and load on Earth
Initial State: A battery-operated motor on the ceiling was attached to a load through a rope. The load was stationary on the ground.
Final State: The load was raised above the ground and the motor was switched off.
Remarks: A sound was produced when the motor was in operation. There was a slight increase in temperature in the motor and rope. There was negligible transfer of energy to the surroundings by heating.
