About this Simulation

This interactive simulation models the oscillatory motion of a mass-spring system with a spring constant of π²/25 N/m and a 1 kg mass. Learners can observe and analyse how position, velocity, and acceleration change over time, exploring the fundamental relationships that govern simple harmonic motion through live graphs and real-time data visualisation.

Learning objectives: Understand the periodic nature of simple harmonic motion and the phase relationships between displacement, velocity, and acceleration | Investigate how spring constant and mass affect the frequency and amplitude of oscillations | Apply graphical analysis to interpret motion characteristics and verify SHM equations
