About this Simulation

This interactive simulation models irradiance distribution created by N point light sources passing through an L-shaped aperture. Learners can adjust source positions, aperture dimensions, and observation parameters to investigate how geometric aperture shapes influence shadow formation and light intensity patterns across a detection screen.

Learning objectives: Understand how multiple point sources produce combined irradiance patterns | Analyse the relationship between aperture geometry and shadow characteristics | Explore diffraction and intensity distribution in constrained optical systems
