About this Simulation

This simulator visualizes the relationship between instantaneous and average power in alternating current circuits. Learners can adjust voltage amplitude, frequency, and phase relationships while observing how sine and sine-squared functions determine power delivery. Real-time graphs show the instantaneous power waveform and its average value over complete cycles.

Learning objectives: Understand why average AC power depends on sin²(ωt) rather than instantaneous current and voltage | Explore how phase angles between voltage and current affect average power output | Connect mathematical representations of periodic functions to physical power delivery in AC systems
