About this Simulation

This simulation models the part-part-whole relationship, a foundational concept where numbers are understood as composed of smaller parts that combine to form a whole. Students can explore how different combinations of parts create the same total, building fluency with number composition and decomposition through interactive manipulation and visual representation.

Learning objectives: Understand how numbers can be broken down into constituent parts | Recognise that different part combinations can equal the same whole | Develop flexible thinking about number relationships and additive structures
