I want to design a game-based learning interactive for my students.
Grade level: Primary 5–6
Student readiness level: Mixed Abilities
The game is based on: matching and translating English idioms into their equivalent Chinese meanings through a fun, self-paced quiz.
The objective of the game is to: help students understand common idiomatic expressions, connect them with similar Chinese sayings, and strengthen vocabulary, cultural awareness, and inferential skills in both languages.
While playing the game, students should experience: immediate feedback after each choice, encouragement through sound effects and confetti celebrations, and self-reflection by reviewing explanations at the end of the quiz.
The interface should include: a score counter, visual illustrations that change with each question, progress bar, instant feedback highlighting, celebration effects for correct answers, and a review page summarizing performance and learning points.
